Meet Your Farmer:

What areas in the cattle industry is your farm involved in?

Myself, along with Perry, my high-school sweetheart of a husband, and our four children (Titus, Sophie, Beckham, and Stella) live on Philpott Farms in Englewood, TN. Our farm produces Black Angus cattle (commercial and registered) and is a Black Angus seed-stock producer. Within our community we offer consumers beef by the whole and half and supply a handful of restaurants and catering operations with beef. In addition to cattle, we commercially produce hay, straw, soybeans, and corn. For sheer enjoyment our gardens and small vineyard are seasonally filled with fruits and vegetables like watermelons, muscadines, and pumpkins.

Are you involved with your community?

It's a joy to live in a community where we "do life" together- from helping my husband as he coaches our daughter’s soccer team to being active in our church to communicating with local organizations where we donate beef to supporting my husband when he serves on ag-related boards- our life is full of being supported by and supporting our community. Our favorite event is co-hosting ,with our farm neighbors (Lee Dairy), a big night of fireworks on our farm every 4th of July. The entire community gathers for a night of pure-Americana.

Do you have a off the farm job?

In addition to my life as a farm mom x4, farm wife, and seller of Black Angus beef I am an author. The Growing Season: A Year of Down-on-the-Farm Devotions (Harvest House) is my latest release. Moo, Moo Nap, Nap, a children’s book, will be released in 2024. My first book was Loved Baby: 31 Devotions Helping You Grieve and Cherish Your Child After Pregnancy Loss. All are available wherever books are sold (plus your local Co-Op!).
