The Tennessee Beef Council would like to Congratulate Jennifer Houston, 2019 National Cattlemen’s Beef Association President. Jennifer is the first NCBA President from Tennessee. We are extremely proud of her hard work and accomplishments. She has served Tennessee agriculture well and we are confident in her ability to convey the importance of the beef community to consumers and represent cattle families throughout the nation on important issues affecting farm and ranch businesses.              

Jennifer has proven her leadership qualities serving on numerous boards and committees at the county, state and national level including: Monroe County’s Cattlemen’s Association, Tennessee Cattlemen’s & Women’s Associations, Tennessee Livestock Network, several University of Tennessee Advisory committees, Tennessee Beef Industry Council, National Livestock and Meat Board, and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.     

As NCBA President, Jennifer will continue to assist the executive officers and leadership team with important decisions that will guide the US beef community forward for years to come. Her extensive experience and exceptional communications skills will serve our industry well.       

Jennifer and husband Mark Houston, are owner-operators of East Tennessee Livestock Center, Sweetwater, TN. They have two adult children Virginia and Ross. Jennifer and Mark are leaders, especially when it comes to adapting to progression and innovation in the industry.  Jennifer is a firm believer in the Beef Checkoff program and knows the importance of producers being involved in marketing their product and protecting their business through meaningful policy.  She is a well-respected leader and will be an outstanding representative for Tennessee and the United States Beef Industry.
